Web Marketing 101
Ok so you have a website or have had a website but, now what? Here's a few things to make sure you're making the most of web technology and putting your best face forward.

First Impression: Websites are now the first look at a business. Make sure your website is properly representing the image of your company. The site should be well-designed (easy on the eyes), easy to navigate and provide pertinent information. Note the 3-click rule: it should take your customer 3-clicks or less to get where they want to go.

Keep It Fresh: The Number One reason for repeat visitors is new and fresh information, which doesn't have to take much time. Here are a few ideas to keep it fresh: update graphics to represent the time of year or upcoming holiday, monthly coupons or specials with expiration dates, interesting facts or trivia, recipes, and contests.

Know Thy Customer: Websites are an unobtrusive way of learning more about your customer. Take advantage of online forms to gather information like name, address, email, buying habits, and comments. This new information helps build your customer list of emails to send them info on a regular basis.

Build Traffic: It's like the saying if a tree falls in a forest, does it make a sound? Your website is no good if no one knows it's there. Everywhere you have the company phone number also include your web address. Also your webpage should be optimized with META tags (techy word) to include key words, title and description so search engines (like google) can pick up your site. After optimizing Get Out Today, each month thereafter are numbers doubled.

Make Money: You can also make money with your website. There are affiliate programs, which are online partnerships. Basically you go into an agreement where you put links to these website and they will compensate you for any sales or links. Good sites to check out are: LinkShare and Commission Junction. You can even sell branded products on your site at no cost to you (read more here).

There's no recipe for success, as seen with the many dotbombs… but you can try these ways to increase awareness of your company and website.
